Based on ancient wisdom, the Enneagram is a powerful coaching personality analysis tool that facilitates self-discovery and inner transformation. Constructed over thousands of years, the Enneagram has recently made its way into the mainstream world of personal development and coaching, and it offers many useful insights to help you live life to the full.
Everyone has a unique Enneagram profile, a tapestry of core beliefs, habits, traits and motivations, all woven together to form your personality. The Enneagram helps us to understand how we are ‘wired’ together is a key part of our journey of self-discovery, helping us level up to the next stage of awareness.
Through the Enneagram, we bring awareness to unhealthy habits and blocks relevant to our type. We notice and acknowledge skills and gifts we previously didn’t notice, and we are given opportunities for growth and evolution that weren’t there before.
The Enneagram coaching process doesn’t merely point out one’s external behaviour, preferences, strengths and styles. Instead, it acts like a personality x-ray, exposing hidden patterns of belief, drives, fears and capacities.
Enneagram coaching brings to the surface subconscious motivations that drive our behaviour in specific, consistent ways. By making these motivations conscious, the Enneagram illuminates our blind spots, enabling us to respond better to life’s challenges.
As a developmental framework, Enneagram coaching does not just take a snapshot of who you are, but also highlights your natural gifts, helping you to experience who you can be at your best.
8 Week Course
Week 1 – How the Enneagram helps us live better lives
In the first week, we will give a high-level overview of what Enneagram coaching is, and how it can help you live a more fulfilling life. With your coach you will look at the structure and intention of this system, along with an overview of where the Enneagram originated from. You will walk away with a clear idea of what the Enneagram is, how it is used, and most importantly: Why it can improve your life in every domain.
Week 2 – Honing your power: The body-center
The Enneagram-system is divided into three dimensions: the body, heart and head-centers. In this week, with your coach you will look at the body-center. We explore how our bodies function as our way to take action in the world, work towards our achievements and live in alignment with our values. We also look at the accompanying emotion, anger, and how to organise our body-intelligence to channel our anger in healthy ways, so we can act with confidence, consciousness and integrity.
Week 3 – Nurturing your compassion: The heart-center
In this coaching class, we look at the heart-center, and how our emotional and social aspects can either entangle us in shame, or free us to live with open hearts towards others. With your coach you will explore how we all tend to constrict ourselves around shame, and how to break from these patterns. We also learn to nurture our emotional lives so we can live lives filled with love, compassion and connection.
Week 4 – Cultivating your intelligence: The head-center
In this week, we look at the head-center. We discover ways in which fear and overthinking can entangle us, trapping us in cycles of anxiety and limiting beliefs. We use the Enneagram to discover how to unlock intelligent thinking, and develop our minds to make wise, conscious choices, training the mind to think creatively, carefully and with a deeper wisdom.
Week 5 – The dark side of the 9 Enneagram types
After the overview of the three centers, we go a little deeper into each of the 9 Enneagram types. We pull the curtain back, to see 9 ways in which we fall over our own feet, and make life harder for ourselves than we need to. We look at specific examples from each of the 9 perspectives, to give ourselves a 360 view of ourselves, shining a light on all our blind-spots, to live more consciously.
Week 6 – Breaking through limiting beliefs
Now that we have a clearer understanding of the 9 ways in which we tend to limit ourselves, we use the Enneagram to look deeper into the 9 ways to break out of unhelpful patterns. Using examples from each perspective, we uncover practical, useful ways you can transform your thinking, feeling and behaviour.
Week 7 – Making the Enneagram work for you
In this week, the coaching process starts bringing the learnings together, so you can craft your own life strategy. We use the learnings from the first 6 weeks, combined with your own, personal experience, and develop a strategy unique to you. This session will empower you with tools and practices unique to you, so that you can truly move from “knowing more about yourself” to “transforming into the best version of yourself”.
Week 8- Using the Enneagram to improve your relationships
For our last week coaching, we will spend half the session integrating the learning from the first 7 weeks Enneagram wisdom, and tying any loose ends. We will also give you an introduction to the upcoming Enneagram-training: “Dating and the Enneagram.” This will be a powerful session, where we look at how the Enneagram can be used to cultivate rich, enjoyable relationships. We look at case studies, answer the most common relationship questions, and give you powerful tools to impact all your relationships: both personal and professional.
Our coaching training classes are can be larger group experiences, depending on how many people sign up. They allow you to learn key Enneagram skills in an online group hosted by our expert therapists . They are a mix of teaching, therapy skills and learning about the different systems and therapies that you can apply to your life. Our Enneagram coaching gives you a broad understanding of the Enneagram. Ultimately we are coaching you with new skills so that you can help yourself and deal with the challenges you are facing.
